Re: Prepper -'lite' or full on survivalist
I would suggest that for most people in the UK, the best you could achieve is Prepper-lite. The option to bug out is not really an option. Certainly down here on South Coast, there is nowhere to bug out too - 10 miles outside of anywhere is pretty much 5 miles into somewhere else, if you get what I ...

Re: Geiger Counters & Dosimeters
I have a GQ GMC500+. Have also used higher end, more professional kit in the past. It's ok as something to have in the house but I wouldn't rely on it for anything serious. Mine can connect to the internet and publish data to www.gmcmap.com. Lets me compare my background CPM to other devices in the ...

Getting rid of bamboo
Anyone got any experience of getting rid of bamboo? Made the mistake of putting some in a flower bed a few years back. Was told it was the clumping variety- they lied. Damned stuff is now popping up all over the place. Currently trying to cut it down to ground level then dig it out, but it's hard wo...

Re: Powdered egg ?
Powdered eggs can last for years, provided you can remove all moisture and store in an anaerobic state. You can make your own, but it's messy and time consuming, so only worthwhile if you do it in bulk. Basically, you need to make an egg slurry, then dry it out slowly so you end up with a brittle ca...

Re: Free online book website
Just buy books. No need for the internet, no need for electricity, all you need is a Mk1 eyeball ( and not even your own).

Preppers Library
Assume the internet is down and you are having to bug out at home. Might be due to power cuts, SHTF, whatever. What reference books would you want on your book shelf? Not thinking "type of" recommendations but specific recommendations. So eg, not "a good first aid book" but "...

That'll keep you busy Sunday..
Was seriously thinking of looking around the local "antique" type shops. Looking for a good hand brace as well.

Quality Hand Tools
Anyone got any recommendations for a supplier of quality hand tool?
At the moment i'm after a double edged bill hook. Had a look on normal places like Amazon etc but hard to tell if things are good quality or junk. Want something that is going to last.
