NurseAndy,
Thank you for that link. They look great - I shall definitely be investing in some for the winter!

Re: "Barefoot" walking shoes / boots

Looked into barefoot shoes after being diagnosed with severe degeneration in my feet due to arthritis and suffering from extensive bouts of plantar fasciitis. I didn’t move straight into them but followed a foot strengthening program by petrafishermovement.com I have tried different brands, Vibrobar...

I’ve had several bread makers over the years and some make a better loaf than others. Not all machines are made equal!

Re: Jenny Makes Bread!

Looks great, well done! Has anyone used a bread maker before? I quite fancy getting one, yeah it’s cheating as I should learn to make bread the Jenny way but it’s more for convenience than anything else. I love my soup maker and use it a lot this time of year alongside my slow cooker, they are the ...

Re: Digging a hole 😉

Well, as they’ve added a 😉 to the title of the post, I think they might be digging a bunker!

Anyhow, clay is tough going. First of all, use some to make a wood fired clay oven. Another source of cooking.

Then order a skip or two or bag it up and make several trips to your local tip!

Re: In the event of nuclear war...

There’s nowhere to run to. There’s nowhere to hide. The government would in all likelihood impose a travel ban so unless you have a yacht, you couldn’t get out of the country. I can see Edinburgh Castle from my window, it’s the natural aiming point for any missile coming in and Edinburgh is one of ...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 11

Bought a small plastic 'greenhouse' so seeds now planted. Normally I just chuck everything into the raised beds but the soil is so wet, I am sure the seeds would just drown. Decided to get some chooks again. Not as big scale as before as that space in the garden now has a fruit cage on it. But a cou...

Re: New baby preps

Longer term preps could include buying (new, charity shop, marketplace etc) clothes in future sizes and box them up. I know it might seem a while away but be prepared to potty train before the age of 3 (when it's often harder to do after then) so you are not reliant on nappies. With that in mind, bu...

Re: Help! Moving to London!

Have a range of different routes to get from work to home so if the tubes are down you have ways of getting home. Have a range of routes to get out of London I'm a hurry if you need to. Make sure your everyday carry bag is legal but has useful items eg bottle of water, face mask/bandana, torch. Prep...
