Re: camping

https://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/ isn't bad but the likelihood is outside of a National Park, you will have to pay SOMETHING. There are some websites that might have a better list of free places to camp, but Google would be your best bet. A lot of the campsites are really struggling at the minute due to...

He wears SOMETIMES a tiny neck knife . You might want to be careful with that if you are UK based, if they are disguised in anyway as something that isn't a knife (so if the blade is hidden) they are illegal. Re: 2nd wave preps

Whilst we will continue to quietly add a bit extra to our weekly shop I'm hoping (probably naively) that if there is another run on the supermarkets they'll have learnt from last time and instigate a limit on purchases pronto. But maybe I'm just blindly optimistic...... The Tesco near me has put th...

Re: 2nd wave preps

I've really noticed stocks start to go down the last week or so. Even my husband who just lets me get on with it said he can see it this time. Tuna, tinned meat, tinned veg, pasta, rice, preserving equipment etc. A lot of the equipment I am looking at online is out of stock. I'm ramping up my super...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 7.

Dug out the remaining part of my front garden, measured up for the new garden trellis to shape the thorn bushes around the window and repaired a load of external brick work - the frost really hit my front garden wall oddly enough even thugh it is about 30 years old with no previousissues. (Every yea...

Re: Vacuum packing and long term storage.

Does anyone have any recommendations for large vacuum sealers? It is something I want to start doing but not sure what to use.

Nah I get you and agree with you - my plan is get everyone out and let the water faeries do their job. I just spent a lot of time upgrading the house (ironically I got it cheap as the had been a fire in it).

Re: Canal EGRESS

Unless you already had a canal boat, you would probably struggle to use this as an escape route? If you already had one, then it is understandable to be using it to plan. As people mentioned there are draw backs (if it gets blocked) but there are advantages. Not far from me there is farmland that ha...

Re: home fire safety advice....

-Snip- Love your setup, pretty much what I use - I didn't see a carbon monoxide alarm (I may have missed it.) But I have one as both a boiler can produce it (if the flue gets blocked which is a possibility) and any wood burners can. The other thing, so an ex of mine used to manage a kitchen design ...

Heat Resistant Equipment – Gloves

As a new member, I wanted to help contribute what experience I have and what I have done to be prepared. My background as mentioned in my introduction is within Police, Security and Security Consultations. A lot of my work resolves around fire safety and it is something I have taken into my prepping...
