Re: How are you preparing for Brexit?

Looking at BBC News,Mark Carney ,Head Honcho at the Bank Of England, says that the UK could sink into recession worse than 2008. There are also figures about today that say we could be looking at up to a 10% reduction in the economy. I'm not sure what to think about this. It's unusual to hear Carney...

Re: How are you preparing for Brexit?

I'm chomping to go for a big replenishment, I've started making a list of things that I want to add. There's not much that I really need but more is better and having the heads up I can target things that may be in shorter supply or cranked up in price. One exception is UHT milk, I think I'm down t...

Re: How are you preparing for Brexit?

Is anybody buying dollars or euros or the like to preserve value in case the pound takes a hit? Been toying with the idea.

Re: How I'm prepping

No harm in building a bit of muss mate, the Forces (especially basic) is more about the running though. If and when you can get around to it, some free weights in the house can be handy too, I've found in the past that if they're there 'winking at me' I'll pick them up and use them, even if I could...

Re: How I'm prepping

Great post. Thanks. You've given it some thought. Might I suggest... Get a water butt that can sit at the side of your house and tap into your downspout. 120L of fairly clean water always available. Only cost about £25. LIDL for cheap tinned soups and potatoes. ASDA for incredibly cheap instant mas...

Re: How I'm prepping

Baked beans are no cook food  all tins are, so just a few tins are going to add another day's supplies very easily. Gives you another day before you're out of options. That's a good shout! They're a staple here too. Asda or its equivalent sell 2 litres of water for 17p-20p. Even more impor...

Re: How I'm prepping

nice post, brutally honest and to the point. looks like you know where your preps are weak already and have a plan in action to remedy that. you might want to stick a bag or two of logs on your short term list as we're rapidly heading into winter and although a Gas cut is unlikely a boiler breakdow...
