Re: Rising energy prices mitigation

Further to my earlier post about my teenage girls being semi aquatic in the shower I've just worked out the cost - ~25p /10 minutes, they are each in there for at least 20 minutes each day =£1/day each! £60 a month!!!!!!!!!
We shall have a discussion.............

Re: Rising energy prices mitigation

Processing your own fuel makes you VERY aware of its usage. A tree surgeon mate drops off several tons of unprocessed wood on a regular basis. I cut it with chainsaw. Son stacks it. Everyone brings it into the house and is aware of seasoning/rotation etc. One daughter also splits the kindling and is...

Re: Rising energy prices mitigation

Biggest energy use is two teenage daughters each spending 30minutes+ in the electric shower every morning :o :o :!: :!:   although slightly offset by soap dodging teenage son spending about 30 seconds once a week in there

Its not just work vans - I'm ultra careful when I park my car anywhere vaguely suss (or even tesco carpark) not to leave anything suggesting NHS as people have had their cars broken into for needles etc.

Re: Fuel storage in car

Hi iron warning, solid fuel such as good old hexi blocks or BCB dragon gel would be the way to go. Hexi probably burns a bit better but has distinct smell and eventually goes off. The dragon gel is really stable. You can also get little disposable burners for either or a more robust but expensive co...

Re: Buy or build a Home First Aid Kit

One thing I would definitely suggest adding is surgical gloves (don't need to be sterile). Not such a biggy for the home fak where its your own family's bodily fluids but definitely definitely put them in the car. If you come across an RTA (for example) it's a strangers blood/vomit/pus you're dealin...
