Some really good points here, thanks all ! I think for me where we live on a major route if anything was to happen in terms of civil unrest or an emergency then our car would be useless due to tye heavy build up of traffic, so ideally we would walk to our safe location about 10 miles away and pitch ...

Never even looked at the premade bags, saying that, I don't have a bug out bag myself. Are you sure you need one for starters and if the answer is yes, what you might put in it might be different to what I would put in one. This is exactly what i'm thinking - will a one size solution fit my needs ?...

Pre Made bug out bags ?

New to prepping, looking at getting bug out bags put together ( 2 ). I've seen some of these pre made kits

Question - are they worth it ? or is it better / more cost effective to build one from scratch ?

Hi All, Just a note to say hello - I'm based in Berkshire and have been putting a lot of thought into 'what would I do' since getting married. I have a good understanding of basic survival skills, fire lighting, knots ect.. and I am first aid trained by St John ambulance which I feel is a good start...
