Re: What lessons from the riots so far ?
That reminds me, I must get down the Archery range for some more practice...purely for the sport you understand, I would't dream of pointing anything sharp at a looter  I've decided that I must get more active, and have decided to take up baseball... Don't forget the ball to go with ...

Re: Fire

Found a decent site for ladders, the prices start fairly reasonably depending on length and wall thickness http://www.safelincs.co.uk/Portable-Fire-Escape-Ladders/ They also have extinguishers, blankets, alarms etc Thanks fo...

Re: Water bottle
I swear by the 85 pattern British Army waterbottle and a metal mug.
They are heavy compared to other makes out there, but they are bomb proof, the ones I was issued with in 1986 are still with me and have never leaked.
Beware of cheaper imitations though.

Re: advice please!!!
Technik,
As I said they all have their place, and I vary from one to the other, going back to lost friends in some cases
At the moment for these Summer months whilst I have the time, I love using the Trangia set up in the 2nd pic.
In Winter it'd be the Optimus in the 3rd pic.

Yes I love my Dutch Ovens: http://img340.imageshack.us/img340/5136/dsc04397b.jpg 12 Litre on the left, 8 litre on the right. Heavy but worth it. For 3 I would advise the 8 Litre one, it will feed more at that size, but better to have the space and not use it IMO. It is the only pot you'll need apart...
