Re: Lessons from a 100 hour power outage

Glad that you are all well and safe and survived the power outage. Ive had one of the UCO candle lanterns on my wish list for a while now and might have to treat myself if Santa doesn't come up with the goods.

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 8.

We planted garlic and onion sets today, a few weeks later than normal, but presume that they will be ok. The leek seeds which we planted this year turned out to be white onions and actually grew better than the sets, so less sets and will plant a few more seeds in spring. The greenhouse is empty rig...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 8.

Ordered and received 12 bottles of de-icer just because it was cheaper to buy 12 on Amazon rather than from the supermarket and we can always hand them out at Christmas as Mother in law did a few years ago  Put another PIR light up on the garage so that the drive now lights up and have a metal ...

Re: Portable Power Stations

We have the AllPowers 288 Wh emergency power supply which we use for camping to run lights, charge phones and the laptop. It works well and we know that we don't need to rely on electric hook up should it go down and yes I do like my home comforts when camping in the bell tent. I have been looking a...

Re: The looming electric / gas shortages...

Daughter and partner popped round last night to look through our collection of camping stuff so they can try before they buy. Husband was on strict instructions that they could take anything including my "best" stove but that they could not take the calor gas bottle. I've got other stoves I can use,...

Could be an expensive year as I'm itching to get a greenhouse or some cloches.
We bought a wooden greenhouse in January, by summer the price had risen by over £200. If you can afford to do it, buy it sooner rather than later.
