Re: Maintaining your fitness pre and post SHTF

But if you do have access to kit I feel its a bit random, I would rather follow a good tried and tested progressive resistance workout, lots to choose from from pure strength training all the way to circuits PHA etc.... Completely not my cup of tea :o , but I would think something like Crossfit wou...

Re: Maintaining your fitness pre and post SHTF

I guess I am prepping (in my mind lol) for a teotwawki situation, so my Post scenario would involve no fitness whatsoever as food would be in short supply and having a body that uses the least possible calories would be needed , so no excess muscle :o , and am thinking that the activities you would...

Re: Maintaining your fitness pre and post SHTF

Sorry it took me so long (xmas has got me a little sidetracked) but here, at last, is my first recommendation for a suitable and enjoyable workout for both pre and post SHTF scenarios. Watch this space as there's more to come! I call it 'running the deck' but I'm sure it has other names elsewhere. A...

Re: Reaching Peak Fitness

This is quite a hard one for me to write, because it means admitting i have issues- meh! Over the past few months i have been implementing a fitness programme, starting off slow and working my way up, i have been walking almost every week in a forest nearby, with a break in between due to commitmen...

Re: Nuclear war survival skills

Just found this one; Square Leg field exercise- Part of the exercise involved a mock nuclear attack on the British Isles. It was assumed that 131 nuclear weapons would fall on Britain with a total yield of 205 megatons (69 ground burst; 62 air burst)with yields of 500kt to 3mt Mortality was estimat...

Re: Nuclear war survival skills

You don't come across badly at all. I vaguely remember my mid twenties  I was invincible ! Great talking with you. Thanks- I have no idea how to act socially and often find I rub people up the wrong way being a smart-ar5e! I'm noticing my joints are starting to go on me- used to lift weights f...

Re: Nuclear war survival skills

Hmmm. No one knows how they will react until a situation occurs. I suspect, general panic, that you are quite a young person? Hehe, you may have hit the nail on the head. Not only am I in my mid twenties but I'm autistic too... Blind youth + Autism = Inability to see anything from anyone's point of...

Re: Nuclear war survival skills

Isn't it overeacting to assume the worst? It's like seeing a burns victim and deciding that if your house catches fire you'd rather shoot yourself than risk getting burnt while you escape. So much for survival instinct  Most of the people who have survived extreme situations have said it was w...

Re: Nuclear war survival skills

Of course MAD still exists. That is why we have 4 Nuclear Subs ( is that number right Deeps?) mooching around out there. No nation will nuke us as long as they cannot pinpoint our nukes out under the oceans of the world. And we are damned good at it. As for living in the aftermath of a nuke attack,...
