Re: Use for PMR radio
Be aware that the range on the license free PMR446 handsets is pretty short. 2km is optimistic unless clear line of site is available. Add any buildings, trees or high ground between you and you won't get comms
They are pretty cheap so give them a go but don't rely on them

Re: What radio meets my need's
Is CB radio an option? CB is a joke really, best to go off and get your Foundation License. Don't knock it too much, it has its place. Its license free and now it legally includes SSB it's got potential. Admittedly, with the lack of activity from the sun at the moment, propagation ain't great. Howe...

Re: What radio meets my need's
Hi there I'm hoping someone who know a little about radio communications so can help me out. I thought instead of me asking lot's of questions, I would explain what I need a radio for and someone can then point me in right direction. So my job requires me to be away from home everyday, I usually tr...

Re: Pound heads sharply lower on Brexit concerns
I just need it to dip a bit lower as I have some money to move to the UK and the exchange rate isn't quite as good as it used to be.

Re: Wooden Flood Barriers
One thought, if you builds barrier across your garden what happens to the water that goes round it? You could have a couple of issues: 1. Diverting water onto someone else land could cause them problems and then they come knocking on your door 2. Water goes round the ends and still affects you Not k...

Re: Foodbuckets
Ahh, freeze dried food! When it first became available, it was bloody awful. Like eating soggy cardboard. It has however improved a lot and can now almost be described as edible :) Pros: Long shelf life Light weight Cons: Never quite as good as fresh Needs lots of water. If you shop around, you migh...
