I received my Baofeng UV5R today from Amazon; I only ordered it yesterday, fast service. I haven't got a clue what to do with it so I thought the least I can do is charge it up. :) I'm trawling You tube videos for instructions on how to program it, the programming cable hasn't arrived yet. Well it's now the 1st of October, its getting a bit chilly over night but i haven't seen any snow yet, well at least it hasn't snowed here yet.

Have you any idea what maximum load those can take? I know they are no good for climbing / shock loading etc. But if they can take a decent continuous load they could have all sorts of uses. To be honest i have no clue as to their load bearing value. But, for the price paid i thought they were chea...
