I received my Baofeng UV5R today from Amazon; I only ordered it yesterday, fast service. I haven't got a clue what to do with it so I thought the least I can do is charge it up. :) I'm trawling You tube videos for instructions on how to program it, the programming cable hasn't arrived yet. I'm luck...

Well it's now the 1st of October, its getting a bit chilly over night but i haven't seen any snow yet, well at least it hasn't snowed here yet. :D

Have you any idea what maximum load those can take? I know they are no good for climbing / shock loading etc. But if they can take a decent continuous load they could have all sorts of uses. To be honest i have no clue as to their load bearing value. But, for the price paid i thought they were chea...

I have a mag mount but know its going to muller the paint work over winter (modern car paints dont like moisture been trapped as it absorbs into the clear coat and goes cloudy) im getting a crap swr with a big mag mount so thought i might as well try a decent conductive ground plane the riv nut sho...
