Re: What preps are you doing this week? Part 3.
Have you actually put 64gb on it and checked it's all still there? Theres load of dodgy zip drives about, usually they are 16gb but hacked to show higher, when you add stuf it overwrites once it gets full. you won't know untill you check if it's all there and available. Yep, first thing I did was l...

Don't know if you have kids pseudonym, but download a few movies even for yourself At least you'll have something to do for a short while... I have a hudl 1 loaded with books and films on the SD card. Ideal for in the car too. I picked up one of these when we did the shop the other day, it makes it...

Re: A UK friendly specific EDC gadget thread!
As a compromise, I see plenty of lassies who wear trainers to work with their business suits and (I'm guessing) either have a pair of work shoes in their bag or under their desk at work. I do this, I have a pair of Merrell Moabs which seem to be the most comfortable footwear I've ever owned which I...

I've had a Gerber Legend for more years than I can realistically guess at. It's been everywhere and used for all sorts of things, and is still in good shape. You can replace parts (like the saw blade) really easily, and it's heavy duty enough that you don't have to worry about breaking it...well at ...

Re: Huel?
Provided it does provide all the nutritional benefit the only drawback I can think of is it'll taste awful. In fact I think "Huel" sounds more like what you'll end up shouting into the toilet  It took me ages to find a brand of protein shake that I like, and even then I can't stomach ...

Re: Back again- re introducing myself!
Hey welcome back!
I bought a Tern P24 recently which is great, it's a proper geared mountain bike that folds in half. I don't use the train so only use the folding bit at home and the office so it can come inside.

Go for the Littmann Classic II SE, that'll be everything you need for as long as you're at med school
I left a fair while ago now, but if I can be of any help then just fire me a PM and I'll do what I can.

Re: Medical School
A bit of an update. I will be starting medicine next month in London. I am extremely excited and very nervous too! Congrats! You're doing a good thing :D Two small bits of advice; 1. Hold fire on buying your text books at first, and work out which ones you absolutely have to buy (it won't be many)....

Re: Maps and Security
No, triangles with the pointy bit up are the symbol for an observation point. It was just an example. You can't commit multiple BoLs across large areas along with multiple ingress and egress routes to memory, so it's better to commit them to a map. Plus if for example you have a family that you want...

Re: Barricading / Home fortification.
Its quite popular in London to have retractable steel shutters that fold to either side of the windows, and then pull across to lock on the inside. They go inside the windows but behind the curtains so you don't see them during the day, then if you want to lock the place down you pull them across. T...
