One of the lads over on BCUK had a line firing catapult which was interesting to say the least!!! We used it on one camp to fire lines over tree tops to rig a ham radio dipole antenna, worked well.

Not a bad deal at Argos (same price at Tesco) AA AAA USB fed charger with four batteries so just plug it into your cheapo ebay solar panel and away you go
