Re: PTT. Simples...

The Foundation is not really an exam, more like a multiple choice quiz, my grandson flew through it two years ago aged 11. I strongly advise you to join a local ham club where you'll learn about radio and just as important you will learn operative etiquette. Last thing we want is a bunch of newbies ...

Re: 2 Person tent

Now, at the risk of being called a dinosaur I would suggest a good old fashioned vango force 10 mk4. Does weigh an absolute ton (even more when wet) but if there's two of you then you can split the load and it'll last through any and everything (including the zombie apocalypse followed by a nuclear...

Re: 2 Person tent

If two of you are going camping then get a three person tent, in bad weather you'll be eternally grateful for the extra space. If your new to camping especially wild camping I'd say don't spend more than around £150 on a tent until you know what you want and if your only a good weather camper. You c...

Calibre is free software to convert ebooks to different formats, Kindle (mobi format) etc https://calibre-ebook.com/download_windows64 Borrowbox is another good app, it lets you borrow ebooks from you local public library, not permanent downloads but worth hooking up with https://www.borrowbox.com P...

Re: Heating your house in the future

I dread to think how much it would cost to heat our house with electricity. Its three story Victorian four bedroom with 10' ceilings in all the ground floor rooms, fully double glazed and insulated. Gas costs me about 25p an hour to keep the whole house warm. Heating one room with a 2Kw fan heater c...

Re: Who's getting the vaccine

I'm in the shielding group and had my vaccine last Friday. I had the Pfizer and as well as the usual sore arm my bg's rose significantly (diabetic), my arthritis flared up as did a rash I have on and off. My bg's I'm still trying to get down but the other two only lasted a day or so before back to ...

Re: No jab, no job

Medical staff in many cities and most certainly London draw heavily of workers from the BAME comminuty hence dip in London. The BAME communities is the highest sector of people who listen to friends and social media, thankfully this is now being addressed by community leaders...better late than never.

Re: When should you use a tourniquet?

Get trained, that vital. Fact is there are few times that correctly applied direct pressure won't work, less so on a battlefield when your being shot at but in more normal times direct pressure works. Far too many preppers who think they know what they are doing when in fact its a case of 'All the g...
