Re: Forced into getting a smart meter

Scottish Power are getting there with me too - they used to just email me, then they called me on the phone, sometimes twice a day - I only answered once, then recognised their number, stopped answering. They never left a message. Now they've emailed saying its at the end of its life - I haven't not...

Re: Waste Management

Great topic! One thing I'm concerned with is fabric - I wear my clothes till they've got holes in, literally, or until the zip breaks (a much loved fleece finally did this over the winter). They're no good to take to the charity shop Welcome to the Raggedy Ann club : ) Thanks :D I missed the commen...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 11

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 11

Personally my wife and I were brought up in houses where the heating was basically that of open coal fires. In between rooms you dressed! If you see films or programmes from the 70’s backwards you tend to see folks actually dressed ! Clothes on their backs. Yep, my parents didn't get central ...

Re: New to UK Prepping - Have some experience elsewhere

Welcome to the forum! That's a great first post. You're absolutely right that prepping in South Africa is really different from the crowded UK. So living in East Anglia is a good start you've made :) I'd be really wary of calling what you're doing "prepping" - I'd advise you to investigate...

Re: It's still about.

dizzydays - sorry to hear that, I hope you get over it all soon. I still take precautions - masked in airport and on the plane, even on busy buses on holiday. I've had covid once, and it took two months from my life. With the worries for long term health over repeat infections coming to the fore, I'...

Re: Uses for Flour.

I understand absolutely. As a vegetarian, it's a complete pain to have digestive problems in relation to cows' products! Goat and sheep milk/cheese are fine, fortunately. I'm lucky that I don't have a problem with nuts, or I really would be stuck. Still thinking about buckwheat, and I do like how it...
