Re: New Member

Welcome to the forum! Good to hear that you've already got so much experience, I'm sure lots of that will stand you in very good stead. What issues most concern you at the moment (apart from the passing fancy of a global pandemic!). As for networking - stick around, it can certainly happen, people l...

Seconding pictures - using peat in a place where it's actually appropriate is great, and it keeps alive the skills of cutting, storage and using, which are no mean feats in themselves from the sound of it. Thank you Britcit.

Re: Security

Some brilliant suggestions on here - obviously, its a topic we've mentioned before, but there's a fair bit of new stuff, thank you all, OP too. There's a good little Collins gems book https://www.amazon.co.uk/SAS-Self-Defence-Collins-Barry-Davies/dp/0004723015 That's a great link! I'm not buying sec...

Re: Who's getting the vaccine

Second vaccination on Thursday. Felt fine the rest of the day, felt **horrible** yesterday, and okay again today, to the extent that I managed to cook a rhubarb crumble (miraculous for me!)

Re: Security

You did really well! Turning the lights on, phoning for help, presumably making noise and showing them that somebody is in the house and alert. We're often advised not to take our mobiles into the bedroom so that they don't interrupt our sleep, but in a situation like this, they're a godsend. In add...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 8.

That's a real issue, isn't it - its no good storing stuff if you literally don't know where it is. When I moved house in 2010 it was a downsize, and I'd got rid of lots of stuff already, but the first two years here, I was continually taking stuff to the charity shops. Then in 2017-18 I needed to ma...

Re: New member

Welcome to the forum, hope you find things of use here. We have a fair few members in Scotland, and conditions local to you in Glasgow will be important too, your route as you journey home from work, that sort of thing. There's lots of information on here!

Re: I’m back

Things are totally bonkers, aren't they! I'm glad your boy's coping - but I bet you miss that running! Are you in a situation where you can run and he's on his bike beside you? So difficult for children - I have a great-nephew who's now six, and the pandemic is such a large percentage of his life :(...

Re: I’m back

Hello Mark/iceprep, welcome back. Hope your son's condition is on an even keel or improving. What are your thoughts on the world today, what's got your attention? Are you still into distance running?
