Re: How is everyone dealing with rising prices?

Sounds like some good old- school money saving going on there. :D We too,are watching electricity consumption. As Jenny points out,the tumble drier is the real energy hog in our house.Eon keep offering a smart meter, but we don’t need one to know what uses the juice! The kettle is another ,and for the...

I have put this here as prices of goods equate to money. The topic of rising prices seems to be rearing it’s head on the forum. Fuel is the big one it seems, food too,and both are non- negotiable aren’t they? Contrary to to what I read ,incomes do not seem to be rising when talking to friends, but pri...

Re: Potatoes

Also ,plants need sun and daylight ,in quantity. One reason why farmers plant in Spring, harvest in Summer / Autumn. Re: Lessons from a 100 hour power outage

So, our powers back on after 100hours & four nights. Good test of the preps and pleased to say things went very well. Thought I'd share our experience & observations. Firstly, we're a family of two adults & three teenagers, all in good health other than some mild asthma in wife & 2 children. We liv...

Re: I got broken into :(

Bloke that tried to break our house picked on the wrong one. I opened the door on him and smashed his face with my 3 cell maglight. Crap torch, but great club! His mate fled, but crashed through the pyrocanthus at the top of the yard, and was picked up by the police dog handler, shredded to bits! Justic...
