Which Multi-tool you carry is obviously a personal choice and depends a lot on your own personal requirements and, if any, weight restrictions you may have based on how you carry it. Personally, I rate Leatherman over Gerber, and I carry a Leatherman Wave which I use at work and in the field all the time. For me, this is an ideal choice as I don't have to open the Multi-tool to get to the blades, saw and file which are located on the exterior of the handles, and I use these particular tools a lot. As mentioned by others here, these tools do lock.
