How you keeping cool .
Re: How you keeping cool .
What to eat ... I don't eat bread (gluten issues) so every meal is cooked, to some extent. Avoided the negligible heat of a boiled kettle and 3minutes in the microwave for my porridge by using a hm flapjack, made of the same stuff as my porridge, with soy yogurt. Lunch, I'm defrosting a double portion of frozen sweetcorn - might want 30 seconds in the microwave, I suppose, but thats all, along with an egg, which again takes 1 minute in the microwave. Evening meal is maybe a can of butterbeans (love the canned version!) with feta and pesto from the fridge, maybe some pickled beetroot.

It's so much hotter today than yesterday. Mum is getting quite jiffly and bored which is making it hard for me to work. So I may abandon work this afternoon and take us off for a drive in my air-conditioned car with plenty of water and catch up on work later after I take Mum home. I'm very lucky that I can do this!

I meant the frozen bottles! In front or behind the fan?jansman wrote: ↑Tue Jul 19, 2022 8:57 amI’ve opened the top window and dropped it down, outside,to cover the entire length of glass. Which is best?). Using extra usb fans plugged into solar panel on the balcony. When the sun moves out of sight I’ll plug them into a powerbank, Had cool/cold shower in the night. Not a breath of air from the sea, even though it’s yards away.

Slight problem. Fan was making my eyes sore. So I can't have it blowing directly at me. So I'm even hotter! It's 37 outside and 32.5 in my room. Apparently you sleep with your eyes half open so it's best not to sleep with a fan blowing straight at you. Sore eyes is a warning. Don't rub them, though it's hard not to, I have a few times. If you stare at a point long enough you might be able to make them water.
Re: How you keeping cool .
33.2 in my room now, afternoon's only just started.
Re: How you keeping cool .
31 outdoors here, 28 inside with the curtains shut.
That's in the garden hobby room which we're living in for 3 months while the builders do a loft extension and other bits.
They've not measured the temperature in the loft but are sweating cobs.
I'm currently sitting in the garden under the gazebo with a cold tin of pop.

In three words I can sum up everything I have learned about life: It goes on.
