Hello everyone

Post by British Red »

Afternoon all,

I know a few of the members here from the distant past and other places so waves to those I've met virtually or in person. These days I think of myself as a smallholder / self sufficiency type much more than a prepper or bushcrafter although there are clearly huge crossovers. We live on our smallholding, breed rare breed poultry, grow our own fruit and veg, butcher our own meat, preserve most of our own food, cut, split and season wood that we use for heating and cooking, make soap & polish....well, you get the idea - general self sufficiency

Thank you. Off to have a read around the forum - once I get the smell of fireworks and Keyes fluid off me - we've been sterilising one is f the greenhouses today and whilst burning sulphur is a pleasant smell (think bonfire night) it does linger :D

Hi Arz', how are keeping ? Sulphur candles are fairly safe and the traditional way of killing bacteria and spores that lurk in the frames and between the glass panes of greenhouses. Far safer than say a firework - just don't breathe the smoke. Light the wick, shut the door, stay the hell out of it!

All good. I thought you were dead to be honest.

😂. Not quite yet. Moved to the new place over ten years back and it's been full on - and fantastic! Getting self sufficient in fuel, veg, fruit, water etc. Has been an amazing and fun learning curve
