We have already asked for a 3 months Mortgage hoilday, I can use £2K much better than the bank can in the next quarter.

This statistic might help people visualise the amount of debt we are planning to run up.

If we had a £1000 bank note..... (Current bank notes are 0.11mm thick.)

£1 million in £1000 bank notes would produce a pile 4" inches high.

£1 billion in £1000 bank notes would produce a pile 300' feet high.

£1 trillion in £1000 bank notes would produce a pile 63 miles high.

That a lot of debt folks.

There's an unexpected consequence I found out this morning: one of my sister's friends doesn't have much food in the house, and decided to buy a freezer to supplement her ginormous American fridge (a lot of dozy rich people in this part of the world). Many stores are sold out of chest freezers, and won't allow pre-ordering. Ikea have a few, apparently.

I found that out a few weeks back Arzosah. Tried to get a chest freezer for the spare room but none to be had.
