Got some more silver in the post today. I only decided about 6 months ago that silver might be a worthwhile prep vs the cost of buying it but quite happy with the way my little stash is building. Don't want to fork out too much in one go, so it's coin by coin for me.

This bit probably doesn't belong in here but I need to get our under stairs cupboard de-junked. I think it's a better place for our safe, which is currently in the back of a wardrobe and not bolted down.

If you don't mind me asking what silver coins are you buying, I'm looking into stashing some gold/silver myself but not sure what to buy. Any advice from others would be widely welcome to.

Thanks Arzosah. Not seen that. I'll keep it in mind. I think there's a similar site that someone mentioned on here that I have saved (somewhere) in my bookmarks. I'll add yours too. I prefer the hard copy maps myself because the paper OS maps cover a really large area in tiny detail and I can get my head round an area easier with one giant bit of folded paper IYSWIM. That's not to say that I don't love Google maps and the like, but I find they are more useful for a smaller area.
(PS Sorry for the delay in responding. Family stuff came up that day and derailed me for the week.)

Hi Rebecca, I think you might need to post an intro?

I'm buying American Silver Eagles, readily available in this country. I'm not 100% convinced silver is a good idea but the coins are relatively cheap so it's a relatively cheap investment and for that reason I would rather have it than not.

Honda. The best, but they are pricey. I have a ( don't laugh!) 6 Kva site gennie( Honda) Got it off a bust builder for £200. I could power the street :D I also have a 2kw "suitcase" honda. Very quiet, very reliable. I think you could pay £ 500 or so for one of those. Good place to look is Machine Mart. Good website. Their "Clarke" brand gennies are made by Honda.
