Theres also a few extra bits added since these photos were taken
Have you ever had to use the hand warmers or are they a just in case type thing?

Also - I want more details on your res-q-me thing and your little knife please. :)

Also also, is that a space pen?

I've got a bullet space pen and now I'm looking at a Trekker space pen because I think it would be a better option for keeping in my wallet. I like the attach/detach method since there isn't one at all on the bullet, and I've nearly lost it a few times since it's not in there all that tight. Any cheaper recommendations for this type of thing?

I can help with the resqme....

Well its a great idea and feels robust..

Its a plastic keyring tool with a pull away keyring tag which covered a safety knife (think safety box cutter for cutting seat belts. With the other end there's a plunger activated automatic centre punch for toughened glass

Now sadly to be negative I've had 2 of them and both fell apart in my pocket (both times the centre punch mechanism fell apart rendering the glass shattering part useless so I bought a genuine "life hammer" and mounted it in the headlining in the car
If your roughing it, Your doing it wrong ;)

Lack of planning on your part doesn't make it an emergency on mine

This is interesting, I bought an eBay copy of it and exactly the same thing happened. To be fair I tried out the glass punch on a wooden table and it worked twice. And it worked well. But the third time it failed, and was just broken thereafter.

So this says to me that if you had a genuine branded one, and I had the chinese crappy version, and they were both similarly crap, how would you fair if you really needed it in an emergency?! And worse, even if you bought one new and kept it wrapped in cotton wool, could you trust that it even works if you don't try it?

The little knife i believe was part of a set, with a multitool and compass from go outdoors and is supposed to be on a keychain.

The res-q-me thing i have tried (like you do lol) on door frames, which left an impressive little indentation, and on 4 windows of a car that was due to be crushed. In my van i also have an emergency hammer, and another 2 res-q-me in the car.

My magic pen :) Every october i get sent 'samples' from companies trying to get me to buy their products to give away to customers / staff as christmas gifts, and a few years ago, this pen turned up. One end of it is a very bright LED torch, with replaceable batteries, the other end is a normal pen, and you can replace the ink. The tip of the pen lid also has a rubber type nib, allowing it to be used on touch screen devices as well.

The hand warmers have been taken out, and used on my neck over the last 2 days to try and ease a knot, along with a ton of ibuprofen, as in 4 hours time, ill be jumping into a life / death situation, and not being able to turn my head will guarantee that things wont go as smoothly as they should (so if this is my last post, yes, its me youre hearing about on the news ;) ), but, its surprising how much room they actually took up, even though they were rolled and kept in the bottom of the bag

I have also taken the res-q-me off the keyring and bags front clip, and attached the plastic clip through one of the paracord zips. It now doesnt hang lower than the actual bag and it no longer makes the squeaking sound of the plastic on the metal ring when i walk

I've got a bullet pen that I found in the street, having had the thing escape from pockets etc I can see how come it was lost.

Fisher supply the refills with a plastic adaptor to make them work in Parker pens, so find a Parker you like and switch.
Budget version, some 'promo' pens use a knock-off Parker system, I've got one of those too
A refill shouldn't cost you more then a fiver, Ebay is a good source.
Thinking about it, a SP refill might be a good addition to a miniEDC

How did you like the knife bud? What's the verdict? It's definitely a cheap knife, but I still think it's a winner for the money.

You'd spend more on a Sunday paper. How could you go wrong? I like it because it's disposable. If I lose it, ah well. I'd be gutted if I lost a £20 knife.
I'll risk getting a couple to put away, as you say, if they're not getting heavy use they should be fine. I'll retrieve the SAK in the missus's car bag and replace it with one of these. Good find.
Did I already ask - what did you think? Do they match up to your expectations? I'm comparing to the little fake SAK KFSs that I bought for a quid, and also the proper SAK. The fake SAK is ok, does the job, but is all loose now and it wouldn't hold up to any major tasks.

I've been carrying mine for a while now and think it's holding up well. Thinking of swapping back to the SAK Spartan now though, it's quite a heavy thing for the size of it. Or I might swap out for my mini Gerber BG multi-tool. I've bought little pocket clips like these so that I can attach anything to the inside of any pocket I want.

Makes it well easier to carry smaller things in yer cargo or front pocket.

I got a couple of them mate but I've not really trialled them yet, you've reminded me to have a play, I've stuck them away in storage. I'm really a SAK kind of a cat, I've carried one for years (and years) and for a number of reasons I can't see past them. I promise, I'll have a play and report back.
