Optimystic, is that the James Wesley Rawles? If it is I agree, a good read but a bit 'American' and a bit full on for me, but each and everyone.Reading a book called How to survive the end of the world as we know it.. Quite good, tho based in USA there are a lot of good ideas and things to think about in it..
Today I used work for some prep; everyone went home so I googled 'survival manual' then advanced searched PDF only and have printed off a manual.
I also bought 200 cigarettes. Neither I or OH smoke but I'm thinking bargaining.
On that, a question; we dont really drink either so I hid away a half a bottle of whiskey my Dad left last month. Now it's open will it last in my kit as a medicinal/barter item or, as it's opened, is it spoilt?

Today I was GIVEN one of those 6x4 'instant' greenhouses. You know the ones, push fit tubing with a zip up cover. Only problem, no instructions. Took me an hour, and its up. I will use it next season now,but not a bad gift.

Thanks for that advice! Back at the start of the year I was going to buy one. Read some reviews, and your advice cropped up a lot. No cover on it now'tol next season,as permanent house is full and there is no immediate use. I have also taped the joints together,as I could see problems there too. I think it will be a useful tool-even better 'cos my neighbour was bored with it!bulldogeagle wrote:jansman, make sure you tie the cover on well, they have been known to take off in a high wind...i know, ours did, the frame can sometimes come apart..also in high winds.jansman wrote:Today I was GIVEN one of those 6x4 'instant' greenhouses.
