The discounted one was Amazon and they seem to be out of stock so it's an independant seller now. Maybe when they come back in stock Amazon will still have 1/3rd offitsybitsy wrote:Aw crap! I was going to order one too!!dizzydays wrote:DD, what size flask did you get?

Re: What Preps are you doing this week
My daughter is helping me can apple butter this afternoon.
This evening I hope to order our radios!
Also this is not buying or doing per se, but we didn't do a grocery shop last weekend and are trying to only use what we have in the house this week. I pointed out to the kids that one reason they may not like the powdered milk they've been using is because it is skimmed milk powder and we don't normally buy it. I suggested they mix some of the Nido with the skimmed milk powder to see if they like it better.

Bought 3 1l Kilner jars today in Sainsburys, shelf price was £3.50 each yet they went through the till for £2.79 each, now that is a till difference I like, usually its the other way round. Now I have never done preserving well only once years ago and a disaster, so want to try again, can I use the jars for this or should i just use them for storing dry goods?

Re: What Preps are you doing this week
Are these the ones with the two-piece lids? One flat, disc part and one screw band? if so, yes you can use them. You don't even have to have a special canner, you can use a stockpot as long as it is tall enough - for items that can be water bath canned, that is.prepareathome wrote:Bought 3 1l Kilner jars today in Sainsburys, shelf price was £3.50 each yet they went through the till for £2.79 each, now that is a till difference I like, usually its the other way round. Hi Prepareathome, if you are making jams or pickles, you can use kilner jars, both the swing tops and the ones with a two part lid. Have fun making and eating your preserves, I really enjoy it, and love seeing all the produce on the shelves. As for the price difference, I would have gone back and bought some more, I only ever buy jars on offer/sale.prepareathome wrote:Bought 3 1l Kilner jars today in Sainsburys, shelf price was £3.50 each yet they went through the till for £2.79 each, now that is a till difference I like, usually its the other way round. Re: What Preps are you doing this week
Did it ever have the recall work carried out? When they converted jeeps to right hand drive they neglected to reinforce the chassis properly at the point the steering box attached. Might be worth following it up. I'm not sure exactly which model and years it affected but knowing jeep probably all of thensilverfox wrote:Just got my jeep road worthy again after the steering box fell out and i went up the pavement, much to peoples suprise eating outdoors at the cafe..
