any oil will do as long as it has little or no flavour , during ww2 farmers used sand boxes layering sand and eggs effectively you are stopping the air getting into the porous shell

The one I've read about recently is water glass. Some say sit your eggs in a jar of it, others say paint your eggs with it.

Alternative way is to take them out of the shells and freeze them in ziplock backs or similar :mrgreen:
