Hello everyone. I'm very pleased to have found this forum and it's already given me a lot of food for thought.
I've always been somewhat prep-minded, happy with my own company, I don't like asking for help- I like to be self-sufficient and acquire what I need for a task rather than borrow stuff. I try to plan for things. Back in the 80s when we were all living in fear of a nuclear war I used to lie awake worrying about how to keep my family safe and fed in our basement if things kicked off.
Nowadays we have different, and to be honest probably more likely to occur, scenarios to consider: fuel shortages, natural disasters, societal breakdown and suchlike.
I'm something of a tech/gear junkie: I already have backpacking gear, microlight tents, etc. but I'm starting to think more about bugout/bugin requirements, and sustainable living off the grid. It looks as if I've come to the right place to learn.
