Not worried about powering the whole house,just eating hot food,getting a brew,seeing through the dark,and staying warm.

There is another thread somewhere talking about 'Haybox cooking'/thermos cooking, it can be a good system to use.

I do all my pasta using a thermos flask. Just out in boiling water and leave 10 minutes. I use a short wide one (food flask) so it's easier to clean. I've only seen a bit stick once, when the end of packet little bits went in. I believe you can do rice the same way but I've not tried it.
For pasta bake, I do the above, add (hot microwaved) sauce, add cheese, then put in the air fryer/mini oven for about 5 minutes.
