New member from Scunthorpe, UK!

Post by jimmythejoker123 »

Hello everyone!

I'm a new prepper in his late 30s trying to get his head around everything. It's a little overwhelming at first, but the prospect of being self-reliant in the absence of the fragile structures keeping society afloat is an attractive one. So I want to know all there is about it!

Good to meet you all, and I look forward to learning lots from you :)

Welcome, Jimmy! Hope you find lots here that's useful. I think you've hit the nail on the head when you mention fragile structures - there were a lot of dedicated boots-on-the-ground people keeping things ticking along this year, the structures were ... not good.

Welcome Jimmy,
Lots of useful info here and a friendly and approachable membership.
Suggest you get a big blank page and envisage a few scenarios you are going to prep for... and a few you are not going to. Then form your own plan of attack before diving in ( It's easy to dive in and end up wasting money )
Prepping can be zero net cost or better when it's a way of life.
Get any significant other on board, ASAP, because it gets harder with time.
Graceful Degradation! Prepping's objective summed up in two words. Turning Disaster into Mild Inconvenience by the power of fore-thought

Not Feeling Optimistic. Let me be wrong
