Cheap emergency lighting

Post by jansman »

Picked these up from home bargains:

3xAAA batteries,on a dimmer switch.£2.79 each! They do a straight switch version that goes to full- bore LED ,2.59 each. Sillycheap.

Put one on our gloomy and long landing,as we don't like a full light on at night, but it needs something to save tripping and breaking limbs! Worked a treat last night.

thats the lowest setting.

thats the highest.

So I am going to stick one or two more as emergency lighting around the house.

I've also got some led osram branded lights from home bargains with pir built in one is in the cupboard under the stairs near the fuse box open door in the dark it comes on. Got a few spare for shtf for the stairs..

I've got two of those plug in lights with charging dock which illuminates on loss of power (one in kitchen is into fridge socker which lights if kitchen circuit trips as a warning it's tripped

With added "toy" torches on the microwave for the kids if the lights go out....

7yo is not a fan of the dark so she has a little Christmas house as a night light she used to sleep with it in her bed cuddling it ..... So any light in a power cut keeps her happy

Also got led Lidl light under the front door canopy to find the keyhole

That plug in torch with the dock looks a lot like the one I have, was it from lidl? I wouldn't mind another one.

Fair enough, I'll have a look then, pretty useful little light, my cats like setting off the motion sensor though.

Just be careful to recharge regularly- I've ruined a set of NiMh rechargeable batteries in a similar PIR LED light- there's no low-voltage protection so the device sucked the AA's to basically 0v, they never really recovered fully after that.
