My word, two and a half weeks since the last post on here? I'm sure there's more going on than that. In my house, there are ecstatic celebrations (okay, two cups of tea one after the other) - my kitchen is finished! The central light was fitted last week, and this afternoon the sealant between the work surface and the wall was finally done. It's not painted, but right now I don't care, I'm just so happy to have it all completely functional, especially in light of what we've been writing on the "Escalating Events" thread.

I'm having a second go round of the whole house for plaster dust, and I've found a huge hole by the living room window where the tv cable used to come in (separate box now). That might be where the draft has been coming from  Going to smack it on the nose tomorrow.

Thanks pseudonym :) and actually, I've been downloading madly too, it's kind of addictive. Using a search word brings up some amazing things. First aid, fishing, psychology, crafts, gardening, all sorts.

Mrs J had a new car today.I now have her old one ( 4 years old!) and have cleared the crap from my old jam jar. Basically,I have sorted and condensed my spare clothing and get home bag.Boy,was I carting some crap about!

My get home bag is now a Belgian Army rucksack, very water proof, that also contains my trusty waxed jacket and other clothing. It all sits nice and tidily, velcroed to the side of the boot.I have been used to a 'secrecy ' board where I hid the crap. Now it has to be in sight and compact. This will be developed to be a cover- all emergency kit.Along with the hotel bag,it will be all good,I reckon. Not carting junk though.

We got a new car too, a convertible so not a very useful car for preppers really..
I'm reading Jack Reacher, sorry that's not a lot of use for a prepper either..
So sack me. I'm taking time out before things really do fall off the cliff

Next job is to reduce the first aid kit to a sensible level and size......

I found Woman on the Edge of Time over there - wonderful SF book, about before and after the end of the world

Lil, a soft top? How many days a year are you going to be able to use it open? Respect!
