New Yorkshire member

Post by Slightlyparanoid »

Hi everyone, just checking in as a new member. Erm, what to say?
I'm a family man living in Yorkshire with my wife and daughter. I've always had a military/survival/redneck* interest but have lived a urban life, working mainly at a managerial level in various cities. I'm now living in a large town rather than a city and have moved away from management and retrained as a paramedic. Far happier work life, and valuable skills.
I'm an avid shooter and own several shotguns which I use solely for clay shooting. I enjoy camping but with the family seem to come closer to glamping than camping!

Whilst I don't foresee any imminent threat to our current way of life I do have a vague unease and worry that things have the potential to get significantly worse with little notice. I'm not looking to hardcore prep against every eventuality but would like to cover some basics in order to be able to look after the family for a short period of interruption of normality.
Probably just looking at food supplies and alternative power sources.

My wife thinks I'm already a bit strange, and I'm inclined to agree but still want to do a bit of preparation regardless.

I'm. ooking forward to learning from you all and don't doubt I will have questions as I go on.

Catch you later.

*According to my wife!

Welcome. Have a look around, and don’t be afraid to ask questions.
In three words I can sum up everything I have learned about life: It goes on.

Covid 19: After that level of weirdness ,any situation is certainly possible.
