If memory serves, for best results make up a cold solution in a bucket and soak garments or nappies overnight. Do not rub or the stain will 'set' then empty the bucket into the sink and squeeze gently. Put washing straight into machine and do the usual. The joys of having children pre disposable nappies is knowing how to deal with the fallout.

Thanks for the advice. Speaking of pre disposable nappies: I was originally planning on using cloth nappies to save a bit of money and hopefully a bit of the planet, but the girlfriend didn't like the idea of it. I don't think that I would have liked it much either to be honest!
