Hi all

Post by roddas »

Hi all, I'm new to the site but not new to prepping, I live on a small island on the outer hebrides so prepping is part of every day life, I have a fair bit of knowledge on back up power systems and have built myself a pretty good off grid setup, so if I can help anyone in that department please just ask. I also prep for all and any events that I can think of so I will also be looking for lots of advice, I have learned a fair amount just reading through this forum so I decided to join, thanks for having me.

Welcome to the forum Roddas, glad you've found the place useful, I still marvel at the level of knowledge on here sometimes. l'm looking forward to your input on the off grid power stuff.

Wow, roddas, welcome - you're living it, with an off grid system! I'm still not as advanced as I'd like to be with that. Good for you.

I'm not totally off grid just yet but I do have a off grid system that can keep most things running when the grid goes down, for example we had a 8 day power cut last year and put the system to the test and to be honest we didn't really notice any difference other than we couldn't use the tumble dryer but I'm working on that one lol, we was still happily watching TV with the lights on and all the food was still frozen and fresh in the fridge.
