Welcome to the forum mate, it sounds like you've got a good handle on your prepping requirements, I hope you're planning on staying around and not just on a recruitment drive.
There's loads of stuff on here that might be of interest to you, have a good old rummage.

Thanks buddy! No this is definitely not just a recruitment drive. I've wanted to get on to forums for a long time to be honest, just never got round to it. But I'll definitely be sticking around to learn and share as much as possible. Thanks for the warm welcome bro!

Your group sounds very interesting. I understand you may not want to give away too much due to OPSEC but it would be good to hear a little more about how the group works and pulls together.

Yeah we have plans in place for incase of bad situations. Then when people join they're let in on the plans. But it's not really just about that. We look out for each other. if you need help moving house, or someone to help you get your hands on mre's. What ever you need you know where to turn. That's the idea anyway. A lot of our members a ex military and close protection, but there are all walks of life. We have a yearly membership fee of £29 a year, you get a t-shirt, dog tags with your call sign/membership number and a certificate. But all the money is put in to a pot, then we all decide what we spend it on. We've got a generator, a command tent and a wood burner to go in it. Few other bits and bobs. We have as many meets as possible, go to things like the bushcraft show together. It's pretty decent what we've got going on to be fair. We just need more members in the south of England. There's only about 6 of us down here, so we want more to be able to do small meets and find the right people for the safety in numbers thing really.

A quick Google finds there site easily enough complete with warning from Google that says
"Warning this site may harm your computer"
Guess they need a little bit of anti malware prepping on there own web space to remove whatever is on there that googles bot finds suspicious

This sounds like something I would have thought of in junior school, do you take turns playing at being the zombies or is there another group that does that?Jamma Man wrote:you get a t-shirt, dog tags with your call sign/membership number and a certificate.
Have fun playing apocalypse in your command tent, (honestly, that part is so lame that if it was a horse the vet would have shot it) but I think you've probably gathered that I won't be joining you.
I'm all for groups and meet ups for those that want them, although it's not really my thing, but do try to make it not look so much like the beano club.
Also, you say you want to find the right people, but from what you've said the right people are those that are happy to pay 29 quid for a meaningless certificate and are happy to be commanded from a tent by someone that wants to play the governor.
Forgive me for being blunt, but those are not the kind of people that I would rely on in a crisis.
One other thing, assuming that your former military members are not a bunch of walts, what's to stop them turning up on your doorstep to take what you have if there is a crisis, they know where you live, what you have and they probably have a fair idea if you'll be able to defend it.
For all we know this could be a plan to acquire "livestock" to be harvested if SHTF, do you know everyone in this group well enough to say categorically that that won't happen?
You might call me paranoid for thinking that, but given that this is a preppers forum you could call everyone on here paranoid, you'd be wrong though, some of us might be paranoid but the majority just think about what might happen and take steps to minimise the risk.
To me your proposition is a huge risk with a flashing neon sign on it.
That is not dead which can eternal lie, and with strange aeons even death may die.

Lol. No worries. I'm not trying to force anyone into it. Think what you want. I couldn't care less. It's good enough for 50 plus people who enjoy it. Stay classy guys. ✌

We're not all going to see things the same way mate, you've done your pitch and see how it goes. Its not unreasonable that others will pick holes in it as they see it. I see you've not joined in on any of the other threads, don't be shy amigo.Jamma Man wrote:Lol. No worries. I'm not trying to force anyone into it. Think what you want. I couldn't care less.
