From the Guardian yesterday

I found this interesting:
"The figures paint a worrying picture of Britain in the red, and comes as the growth of personal loans, credit cards and car finance outstrips the rise in earnings by almost five times. Bank of England data shows personal debts have risen to levels unseen since the financial crisis, reaching more than £200bn."
Sorry I lost the link and the article it came from. But it's worrying.

Thanks jansman. And apart from anything else, trying to prep with a load of debt is like trying to run with an anchor round your neck.

I suppose all we can do is look after our own debt and to reduce that as much as possible but I do worry that we can do very little about the " wider picture" and that the ramifications are beyond our control.

That's life mate and why we prep. It is crap that you can do everything that you're told/expected to do and it can still go to ratshit but there's no guarantees, you just do the best you can and curse 'da man'.

Yeah very true. If I were more disposed to dispondancy I'd probably look at all the factors , events , and conditions that are out of our control and start a thread called something like " the futility of prepping" :D . As it is no real use worrying about things I can't do.
