I think it makes sense that another "downturn" is likely, but to what depth it is hard to say. 07/08 was harsh and the next one might be worse (just look at the slump in vehicular transportation over that time. Maybe time to consider buying a bike trailer?) but prophecy is always hard, especially about the future. We do know that the PTB will continue QE in various different guises periodically to sustain the world and eventually a new reserve currency option / system / whatever will be chosen. Things will be weird for a while and then after that things will settle down. Its just a question of having new skills in the meantime to keep yourself surviving.
