CB users in the Merseyside area

Post by filsgreen »

Hi everyone, I'm thinking of getting a CB radio and I was wondering are there many users in Liverpool and the surrounding areas?

I'm sure their are users in merseyside but possibly not members here.
Their are users in most areas I've been when I've had the radio in the vehicle .
No where near as many as in past years 80/90s.

I've had my comms years now since the 80s,added a few hand units ,modern antenna so on over recent years.
In my opinion it's a useful tool to have in such events power goes off,Internet phones fail.
Most if not all radios can be run from motorbike 12 v ,car or mobility scooter batteries making even normal units more mobile than just in a car.
Antennas can be built from cable or coax simply too.
Whilst their are many channels ,frequencies and covering them all for most not easy cb radio has been around for years .
Thousands of units sitting in cupboards gathering dust.
It's a pretty common unit.
My mobile units are 27/81 40 channel units with the EU crept mid blocks fitted making 80 in total.
Side band unit for base station.

Good luck.
