Nice to keep things light, only anoying thing about cooking on a wood flame instead of the coals of a fire, is all the crap you have to scrub off

I agree but in a bad situation last of my worries is bulling up my cook pots ;)

I find hard woods make less heat but burns much cleaner than pine which is horrid as the resin from the wood condenses in a sticky black gunge

Exactly. At last some sanity. 26,000 house fires in the UK last year, 0 zombie apocalypses.

I'd trade a machete for a USB with my family photos, home inventory, insurance details and address book any day.
