Anyone for Kydex?

Post by IrishSteve »

Just wondering if anyone has worked with, or planning on using Kydex for anything?
I`ve used Kydex before in my "airsofting" days to make holsters

For anyone who is baffled about what I`m yapping about, and I`m sure of that there are a few, Kydex is a thermoplastic. Basically a plastic that comes in sheet form, that can be heated, either in an oven or by heat gun, then molded around an object. Creating a toughened shell. The list of applications is endless for it`s uses. From knife sheaths to mobile or radio holders, protective incerts for pouches storing breakables or valuables.
It`s pretty affordable and a great way to customize bug out bags or knife or axe carrying etc..

I`ve added a few videos and links for anyone who`s interested in trying this at home.
Any ideas or thoughts on other prepping uses for this?
