Sourdough and starter

Post by preppingsu »

Has anyone got a good recipe for the sourdough starter and for a bread that isn't too 'sour'?
Thanks

Thanks Lil, both good sites. Thought it might be easier to do than it actually is though! Oh well, I'll give it a go and see how it goes.

Don't you only have to do it once every so often and just keep some back for each new batch ? I meant to try it once, jsut to say that I could. But we dont eat much bread so it didnt seem worthwhile.

Meant to say, lots of people are making bread with ordinary plain flour, or cutting it 50/50 with bread flour. Just to cut costs.

Brilliant article Lil. Makes it sound so much easier. I will have a go at half term when I have some extra free time.....
