Have some mixed root veg on the go at the moment (Parsnip, Celeriac, Swede and Carrot). I diced this batch so I'm drying at a lower temp than usual, as I want some for soups and stews and I can make winter mash too.
It's bliss having a dehydrator with a temperature control! :)

Diced veg has dried very well indeed. At 115 degrees and it took 11 hours and I turned the temp up to 125ish for the last hour. The dice is nice and crispy and still retained it's colour. Very pleased. :)

Dehydrator has been a bit busy lately, lots of onions and we had a bit of a mushroom mountain so all dealt with. Currently got a spag bol on to add to the walking meals. Daresay I'll get some more onions done over the next few days too.

That's the Mushrooms and Leeks all done. I'm really impressed with the Excalibur, results are first rate. Well worth the extra money.

I have turned my beds over and have rather more parsnips than we can use at the moment. I don’t want to take up room in the freezer, so dehydration it is. Advice please?
