I'd never heard of a Subaru before my garage sold me a 4-yr old 1.6 petrol estate.

It's getting near the end of it's life, methinks. Corrosion is creeping around.

Still, the engine is sweet, and it has been brilliantly reliable.

200,000 miles. 1996.

I'd look at Subaru again.
SHTF around 2017.

The scooby is a great car, and loved by farmers and country squires everywhere. I have to admit to not owning one, I'm the user of a planet killing proper 4x4 with armchair seating. I like the extra ground clearance, but to be honest, use it on bridleways and gravel paths more than rutted sodden ground.
