Trailer Build

Post by riddlebox »

Hi New to this, but was wondering if i could get some suggestions/Advice/Help.

Family has grown and cant afford a new car so got a Second Hand trailer for £100.

I have started altering it to make it more usable and am looking for advice and suggestions.

Easy - a few 8" wide planks in the frame and you will have shelves to lash the family to while travelling, with space in the car for you, the dog, and the luggage!

Lol I could get lots of crackling from my dog plus you dont need to hunt pets just know their name.

I have added the sides and roof. Had a problem with the wheels and had to get new 8" 4.00 365kg. Rather than the 8" 3.50 165kg

Here is where I am upto

leave the tail gate as is and put two doors at he top .
be care full how much weight you put in , the wheel bearings don`t like it and bend the casing .

I weighed my camping stuff and with the box and kit its about 250kg all up

One thing I would do is rewire the lights as the plug in loom is prone to water ingress and corrosion
