To be fair it was in the pipeline before I joined. The though process was that if we're on a search and in a marked up vehicle, the public would go there for first aid. Also as we know the demand on the ambulance service is growing everyday so if we can start treatment early then it benefits the patient. The search technicians can already fill out ROLE forms, but if we have a live pt with significant trauma they can start things like pelvic binders and traction splint. We are missing significant pain relief so I guess just give them a stick to bite on :D .
