Bad opsec though - the neighbours will be round
Yes and unless he's got that ladder locked to the wall, it's an invitation to any would-be-burglars!

We don't have a single water butt yet. It's on my list to get installed before winter. I've been researching rain water harvesting system which can be plumbed into a toilet and outdoor tap, but it's out of our budget at the moment. The cheapest system seems to be an above ground, direct feed system. For example: https://www.rainwaterharvesting.co.uk/d ... system-106
Ha ha! I have ladders above mine too,and yes, they are locked. ;)

Our ladders are in the garage, but the main doors are the 'barn door' type, with a hasp & staple lock, so quite easy to break in with a good set of bolt cutters. I considered locking the ladders to the wall, but instead I've installed 2 tail bolts to each door and a horizontal 4 foot security bar. So now the ladders and my food pantry are much more secure. Of course, they'll probably just break in through the side door

My drum doesn't have a garage.Mind you, thieves stole a rather valuable motorcycle from my BIL's garage. They moved his Landrover first! But I digress.

Some years ago,a neighbour was locked out after a marital row.Called police, who established that she was entitled to enter her house.( This was 30 years ago),there was an open upstairs window, but no ladder. She says, " Neighbour has a ladder" so Plod asks to use them. When I unlocked them,he commented, " That padlock and chain is a good idea! " No sh#t Sherlock! I told him that I was following crime prevention advice! AND I told him to hang them back up and lock them when done.

Back on topic,I hooked up the 3x 50 gallon barrels at the back of the Summerhouse today. Its a big old roof that one.

That looks fascinating Spike. Can you wander over to the New Members section and tell us a little about yourself please? Where you're based, what you are prepping for, the price of catfish on the market sort of thing? Ta.

I have managed to nab a water butt for free off facebook's buying and selling pages in my area, nearly got another 2 but was pipped to the post! The one I got for free is down my allotment which I keep topped up with water from the water pipe so I have a store on my patch. I got very excited that I got one for free - little things … I am now obsessed in looking at the buying and selling pages for more that are cheep/free.
