Thanks ppl, yeah can happily stay here for a good few weeks, maybe to beginning of October, then start looking at a winter bricks and mortar Home for winter. Campsite is in an amazing location, once settled properly will start going for walks and see what social activities are on for the over 50s. Thanks again for all the support.

Sorry to hear you're having some troubles. Having looked at some caravans on a site that's open all year round recently, I was shocked at how specced up they are! Some of them are amazing! And a lot cheaper than 70k. You may want to have a mooch about a few sites to see what's available.

Good luck!

If you 'do' Facebook there's a group called Let's Walk the Lakes' who put on regular walks. Or you could try Meetup.com and see what groups are active in your area.

DustyDog wrote: Sat Jun 09, 2018 3:03 pm Ok job is fine, no awkward questions asked so I have full time work. :D Camping out for now to save some cash, only £9 a day, showers and loos, and only 5 miles from work, will have to move into something more solid and warm throughout winter, maybe see if I could get a long term b&b, i dunno, will see. Thanks for all the support ppl.
Just got back, congratulations on this! Hope its going well now. Cooling dips in Windermere sounds brilliant. And seconding itsy's mention of meetup, when you want something else - there are so many local groups focussed on hobbies. I'm retired, so I use U3A instead, but when I was working, meetup was my choice.

Sorry to hear about your situation.

Not sure if opportunites still exist where you can get digs and food in exchange for work, maybe in some of the more regional areas of the UK. E.g farm labour. It may not be glamorous but keeps a roof over your head.

I saw a bit on the news yesterday how farms are struggling getting enough labour for harvest etc as they used to rely on overseas labour which aren't coming over as much now (due to brexit and pound value dropping).

Good luck.

Cheers all, work going ok, looking at a merc sprinter for camper, seen some nice home built ones and I’m indoors for the winter, a lot of money for a room that is the same size as a sprinter. Take care all. 😀
