You forgot to mention the bits of broken Blue&White crockery..... I think half of England has that stuff under it :x

The only thing in my garden is a septic tank. Would love a little den on my own property

Have you checked the well walls for signs of iron rings or ladder cuts? An escape tunnel would have probably had some way out of the well. Another possibility is the passage is an overflow or feeds another well somewhere near bye.

That sounds awesome, I'd also love to find something like this! There's a house local to me which use to belong to a smuggler who built in in the 1600's. That has a hidden tunnel under it which runs for miles to a beach, church, castle, mill and old pub, that I know of!

I think I saw that in a Scooby Doo 'documentary'.

Sorry, couldn't help it, it is a bit of a prepper dream to have the tunnels, especially down to the beach.... and the pub.

lol I know, I was speaking to the guy who bought the mill and he told me about them. He's not 100% sure if they go anywhere else too. The castle is privately owned and apparently they have blocked off the tunnel as soon as it reaches the boundary of their land, but the other tunnels still run to their original destinations.
