Cats fur is lovely and soft.... ..

Seriously though most cats will join the rats for a corpse banquet seen many farm cats eating road kill as most are lazy and a meal that won't run away leaves more time for sleeping

A dog would be better, some kind of terrier...good ratters, slighty more loyal than a cat and even a small dog would make a oppourtunist think twice.

A cat wouldn't be much use when all those corpses reanimate and try and eat your brain. One of those hoofing big banned zombie knifes would be handy then.

Decent springer air rifle would be handy for pest control and to take away the boredom of a survival situation by occupying the mind that and other quarry is fair game to eat...

But in the middle of winter i'd rather have shelter over a cat / dog
