we do spend a fare amount of time on the boat.its a bolt hole its been built to be secure and hinder fast entry or exit for unwelcome visitors..if you look at the steps there is a bigger gap between the 3rd and forth step amongst other subtle things lol...this idea was used in medievil castles ;)

One of my sisters lives on a canal boat, moored near Cambridge in secure marina. Fabulous way to live , so comfortable. Shes on a jaunt at the moment and back in September.

this is a bit of an old post- but was looking at canal boats recently.

I really enjoyed the fantasy moment of planning my Dutch barge out using this site.

many hours lost...but was fun
